Who is Amelia Earhart? For your information, Amelia Earhart was one of America's first female pilots and she was an American aviation pioneer and author. She also remains a symbol of the power and perseverance of American women. She was born in Atchison, Kansas on July 24, 1897. She’s also known as Amelia Mary Earhart and Lady Lindy. Amelia Earhart was fascinated with flying ever since she was a little girl. She lived in Iowa and Minnesota before graduating from high school in Chicago,Illinois . She is an active girl who likes to play basketball, baseball and doing many things that are considered wrong for girls at that century as girls are taught to sit properly and spoke softly in twentieth century. Earhart’s have lived in a number of places in America while Amelia was growing up.
Amelia has prepared to enter a university to continue her study but during the weekend she visited her sister in Toronto, Canada. At that time, the world war one had begun and she was shocked by the incident that happened there. As there are lot of people and soldiers wounded, she decided to be a nurse as she feels that it might be useful for them and she can treat the soldiers. So, she has joined the Red Cross to be a nurse. Amelia started to involve and interested in flying while she visited her sister’s home at Toronto, Canada. She talked with many pilots while she is treating the soldiers at hospital. Besides, she also spent her times to watching plane near the military airfield. She can feel that pilot is exciting and she want to fly too. The new goal in her life is she want to learn how to fly. One of the world's first female pilots, Neta Snook, taught Amelia to fly on 3 January 1921. It seemed that Amelia didn't take a long time to learn and make her first flight. As she already interested in that area, so it was easy for her to learn.
