Introduction

Assalamualaikum. Hye everyone.
             I am Nurul Nazreen Shafiqa Bt Mat Jusoh, student of Semester 5 from DEC 5B have asked to make a blog for my third assignment to fulfill the requirements of Digital and Mobile Communication subject. All students are given variety of topic which they need to choose the suitable and interesting topic to attract the readers to enjoy their blog. The topic given is based on the theme which including Legends, Strange or Mysterious things either in Malaysia or other countries. There are few blog topic provided as examples to students to make them more clear about what they should do and choose for blog writing. So, I have choosing Mysterious Events about disappearance of Amelia Earhart. When I read about the story, I feel that the story is quite interesting and good to share it with the others as Amelia Earhart still in remembrance because of her attempt to fly solo all around the world. The mystery of her disappearance did not solved yet until now. So, I hope that everyone can learn or gain something from the story.

Objective/ Purpose of the Blog:
  •       To study the mysterious of Amelia Earhart disappearance with her navigator, Fred Noonan        over         the pacific in 1937.
  •       To reveal and tell to my readers what happened to Amelia Earhart and her navigator.
  •       To investigate the activities that have be done in finding Amelia Earhart disappearance.
  •       To show that Amelia Earhart as a successful and strong women who want to do something       that is       worthy even its risky.

Finding Amelia Earhart

Mystery of Disappearance

      In March 1937, she flew to Hawaii with fellow pilot Paul Mantz to begin this flight but she need to sent the plane to the factory as the plane must to be repair because Earhart has lost control while fly with the plane.

Awards and Achievements



      Amelia Earhart has achieved many accomplishments. Earhart received her “Aviator Pilot” certification from the Federation Aeronautique International on May 16, 1921, which is a major step for any pilot at the time. Besides, she can buy her own airplane, a small Kinner Airster which she called the Canary. In the Canary, she broke the women’s altitude record on 22 October 1922 by becoming the first woman to reach 14,000 feet in an airplane. She was invited to become the first woman passenger to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a plane on 18 June 1928. The journey began when the Friendship, a Fokker F7 specially outfitted for the trip. The new record for the trip was 20 hours and 40 minutes and the Friendship landed in South Wales after 20 hours and 40 minutes in the air. There were many challenges and difficulties that they faced while in the trip. Amelia Earhart have gain new experience from the trip cross the Atlantic Ocean. Shortly after the trip, she was published her book titled 20 Hours 40 Minutes, toured and lectured and became aviation editor of Cosmopolitan magazine. She just sharing the experience that she had gain and the challenges that she faced in the trip until she created a record of 20 hours and 40 minutes. she felt that she did not give many efforts to Friendship but they still manage to create the record together.

         On August 1929, she placed third in the First Women's Air Derby, or also known the Powder Puff Derby which is an airplane race from Santa Monica, California to Cleveland, Ohio with a substantial cash prize. She upgraded from her Avian to a Lockheed Vega. However, in 1932 she decided to become the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic and got a record of  14 hrs 56 min. she received a reward from National Geographic Society's gold medal from President Herbert Hoover. On 24 and 25 August 1932, she become a first woman to fly solo non-stop from coast to coast. She’s flying 2,447.8 miles in 19hrs 5min. other than that, Amelia elected as a president of Ninety nines of a new women’s aviation club. In 1i35, she made a solo flight from Hawai to Oakland, California. This trip also made Amelia as the first person to fly solo across both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.



        On 19 and 20 April 1935, Amelia become a first person to fly solo from Los Angeles to Mexico City with her record of 13hrs 23min and in 8 May 1935 she also become earliest person to fly solo nonstop from Mexico City to Newark with a good record of 14hrs 19min. Amelia has a high goal and aspiration where she want to be the first woman to fly solo around the world after she has gained many experience before. The spirit and strength that she had lead her to achieve the goal whatever happened. In 1937, she began to flight around the world with her navigator Fred Noonan.

      Who is Amelia Earhart? For your information, Amelia Earhart was one of America's first female pilots and she also remains a symbol of the power and perseverance of American women. She was born in Atchison, Kansas on July 24, 1897. She’s also known as Amelia Mary Earhart and Lady Lindy. Amelia Earhart was fascinated with flying ever since she was a little girl. She lived in Iowa and Minnesota before graduating from high school in Illinois. She is an active girl who likes to play basketball, baseball and doing many things that are considered wrong for girls at that century as girls are taught to sit properly and spoke softly in twentieth century. Earhart’s have lived in a number of places in America while Amelia was growing up. Amelia has prepared to enter a university to continue her study but during the weekend she visited her sister in Toronto, Canada. At that time, the world war one had begun and she was shocked by the incident that happened there. As there are lot of people and soldiers wounded, she decided to be a nurse as she feels that it might be useful for them and she can treat the soldiers. So, she has joined the Red Cross to be a nurse. Amelia started to involve and interested in flying while she visited her sister’s home at Toronto, Canada. She talked with many pilots while she is treating the soldiers at hospital. Besides, she also spent her times to watching plane near the military airfield. She can feel that pilot is exciting and she want to fly too. The new goal in her life is she want to learn how to fly. One of the world's first female pilots, Neta Snook, taught Amelia to fly on 3 January 1921. It seemed that Amelia didn't take a long time to learn and make her first flight. As she already interested in that area, so it was easy for her to learn.
